DNR Bike Trail
In the late 80's the DNR built 14 miles of bituminous trail from Pine Island to Rochester. The trail right-of-way serves many recreational uses from walkin, running, skiing and snowmobiling.
The future holds even better opportunities for trail users with the planned extension of Douglas Trail from Pine Island through Zumbrota, Goodhue, Hay Creek to Red Wing, Minnesota.
The project is moving forward with bridge construction between Zumbrota and Goodhue and within Red Wing.

The Goodhue Pioneer Trail as it is called is a grass root effort that was intitiated formally in 1992. Goodhue Pioneer Trail is a State Authorized trail linking Rochester through Pine Island all the way to Red Wing and creating over 50 miles of paved trail surface for a variety of trail users.
